He is a Swiss writer born in 1935. His early education was in a Roman Catholic school, where he rejected that church's interpretations of the Bible, and became interested in UFOs and extraterrestrial activity. In 1968, Von Daniken published " Chariots of the Gods ", that became a best seller, and popularized the " Ancient Astronauts " theory.
Von Daniken is a co-founder of A.A.S.R.A, a consultant and commentator on the cable TV show " Ancient Aliens ", and the Jungfrau Park in Interlaken, Switzerland.
